The computing department aims to ensure students are confident, creative and productive users of computers and software. Our dedicated air-conditioned computer suites have modern computers with 2Gb graphics cards so they allow students to run the advanced software needed for a 21st century curriculum. Combined with access to a comprehensive range of applications we integrate digital literacy, computer science and ICT to ensure our students have an engaging computing education to prepare them for the 21st Century. At the heart of our learning strategy is an enjoyable and practically focused curriculum.

Assessment

Computer Science OCR J277 is assessed with two 1hr 30min exams. iMedia is assessed with 1 exam and two coursework (NEA) projects.

Progression & careers

This course provides firm foundations for Cambridge Technicals ICT at L3. There are a wide range of career opportunities available to people with an I-Media qualification.
